MS Math Teacher/Coach

Job Summary
Teach and coach students in math and athletics, develop lesson plans aligned to district curriculum, assess student learning, and supervise athletic activities. Instruct and supervise student athletes; integrate technology into teaching; communicate with parents and colleagues; coordinate travel for competitions; ensure compliance with NCAA regulations concerning athletics and academic requirements; support IEP accommodations and collaboration with special education staff; supervise teacher aides and volunteers; manage classroom and athletic facilities; participate in staff development and maintain district records.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned
- Teaching certification held in multiple areas is preferred
- ESL Certification is preferred
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- One year of student teaching or an approved internship
- Prior coaching experience is preferred
- Class B CDL with P and S endorsement (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)
- Attend state mandated 20 hour TEA certification class
- Take a refresher course every three years to maintain certification
