Job Summary
Develop and implement curriculum plans for assigned subject areas while presenting content aligned with Texas Education Agency guidelines. Monitor student achievement through formative and summative assessments and assist students in improving study habits. Manage classroom behavior and create an environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students. Collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula for individual education plans and work cooperatively with colleagues on instructional goals. Maintain open communication with parents, guardians, and community members while compiling and filing all required reports and records. Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and district professional development to demonstrate current knowledge in the assigned content area.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Valid Texas teaching certificate for subject/level assigned
- Completion of Texas Reading Academy required for Elementary
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent with technology use and actively integrates technology to enhance student learning
- At least one year of student teaching or approved internship
- Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
- Must maintain emotional control and exercise reasoning and problem-solving skills while under stress
- Should be able to interpret procedures and analyze data for decision-making
- Frequent in-district and occasional in-state or national travel
- This is an in-person position
- Work from home is not allowed unless approved by the Superintendent
Desired Qualifications
- ESL Supplemental Certification preferred
