Job Summary
Manage and optimize SQL Server database environments to support seamless business operations, implementing high availability and disaster recovery solutions to minimize downtime. Collaborate with developers and system administrators to enhance data integrity and security while leading performance tuning initiatives using DMVs and execution plan analysis. Design enterprise backup strategies, configure clustering and replication, and develop automation frameworks for indexing and health checks. Monitor infrastructure performance to forecast growth and implement security measures like encryption and role-based access control. Troubleshoot database incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and build dashboards to report on uptime metrics. This role at PwC Acceleration Center India involves mentoring junior team members and driving modernization initiatives within the Cloud Engineering, Data & Analytics network.
Required Qualifications
- At least a Bachelor's degree
- At least 5+ years of experience SQL DBA
- Oral and written proficiency in English

- Possessing Microsoft SQL Server Certifications (MCSA/MCSE)
- Holding Azure SQL-related certifications
- Demonstrating proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform and Ansible
- Excelling in performance tuning and capacity planning for SQL databases
- Utilizing advanced scripting skills in Shell, PowerShell, PL/SQL, and T-SQL
- Leading database modernization and automation initiatives
- Managing complex SQL environments with AlwaysOn AGs and multi-subnet clusters
