Job Summary
Conduct daily practices and games while maintaining discipline and monitoring student conduct and grades. Implement school and state athletic policies, interpret regulations for staff, and manage equipment inventory, storage, and safety protocols. Coordinate tournament logistics, provide transportation, and submit injury documentation within 24 hours. Direct student managers and statisticians, organize pre-season meetings, and maintain public relations with media, parents, and the booster club. Assist athletes in college selection and participate in budgeting for the 26-27 season.
Required Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of all the Athletic Policies approved by the Swain County Schools Board of Education
- Knowledge of existing school system, state, and conference regulations
- Understanding of the proper administrative line of command
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and the community
- Previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport
- Teacher license and employment as a teacher by the Swain County Board of Education
