Job Summary
Perform magnetic resonance imaging in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice, reviewing patient history, physician orders, and scheduling. Educate patients regarding procedures and equipment to ensure cooperation, and when ordered, prepare and administer contrast media or medications while monitoring patient condition. Prepare equipment, select imaging parameters, and implement safety standards; troubleshoot and report malfunctions as necessary. Position patients, analyze results for quality issues, and enter and transmit scan reports. Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Required Qualifications
- ARRT Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR)
- Registered Radiologic Technologist
- American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
- Registered as a Technologist (RT) and registered in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or registry eligible with completing of registry within 12 months by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT Radiography) or by the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
- State licensure if required by law
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider
- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date
- BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire
