Job Summary

MRI Technologist role performing imaging using MRI equipment, ensuring patient safety, obtaining high-quality diagnostic images, and following department procedures. Responsibilities include patient history collection, contrast administration procedures, pre/post procedure care, positioning, image review and release, equipment setup, PACS/RIS workflow, maintaining MRI suite safety, infection control, and collaboration with physicians and staff. Requires excellent communication, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in anatomy, pathology and MRI techniques. Schedule includes 4x10s with day shift options; location is Rome, NY with on-site requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Accredited program in Medical Technology
  • ARMRIT - Certified MRI Technologist or ARRT-MR - ARRT Magnetic Resonance Imaging
  • BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - American Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor
  • Minimum 1 year successful completion of an accredited MRI program or ARRT-R
  • Excellent communication skills for interactions with physicians, patients, and staff
  • Ability to operate MRI equipment, position patients, and ensure image quality and patient safety
  • Competency in MRI procedures, anatomy, and pathology understanding
  • Knowledge of pre- and post-procedure care and sterile technique
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
