Job Summary
MRI Technologist (part-time) at UPMC Children’s Hospital. 20 hours/week with rotating daylight, evening, overnight coverage as needed, plus rotating weekend/holiday hours. Performs a variety of MRI services including general pediatric, cardiac, intraoperative, and research MRI, with emphasis on patient care and safety. Requires ARRT certification or CNMT/ARMRIT/ARDMS certification as applicable, ARRT registry within 6 months (or MR registry within 18 months), and CNMT/ARDMS/ARMRIT completion within specified timelines. Training available for new graduates; responsibilities include patient identification, documenting history, preparing/administering contrast, proper coding/tracking of exams, MR safety practices, and effective communication with patients and coworkers. Licensure/clearances and ongoing certifications (BLS/CPR, FBI/Acts 31/33/34/73) required. UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology, or completion of an accredited CNMT, ARMRIT, or ARDMS program.
- ARRT certificate OR ARMRIT OR NMTC OR ARDMS
- New graduates encouraged to apply – training provided
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR within 30 days of hire
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 FBI clearances with renewals
