Job Summary
Operate and maintain a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner to obtain images on patients to diagnose the nature and extent of designated pathologies, while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Explain procedures to patients, obtain and record medical history relevant to the condition, select appropriate equipment settings, and position the patient for optimum imaging results. Develop and view images to determine quality and forward for review and interpretation; maintain applicable patient documentation. Maintain adequate supplies and a clean work area; report equipment malfunctions to supervisor. Ensure patient safety and comfort; adhere to workplace safety, environmental, exposure control, and infection control practices. Duties may be adjusted by management as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Medical Radiologic Technologist license from the Mississippi State Department of Health
- Radiography (R) license from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association (post-hire within 90 days)
- MRI (MRI) certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (post-hire within 24 months)
- Minimum qualifications must be satisfied prior to starting work
