Job Summary

Perform high-quality MRI examinations on patients across all age groups, operating advanced 3T, mobile, and upright scanners to obtain diagnostic-quality images. Prepare, position, and educate patients regarding procedures while monitoring them throughout exams to ensure comfort and cooperation. Adhere to safety standards, infection control practices, and MRI-specific protocols while maintaining accurate patient records and documentation. Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and nurses to provide exceptional patient care, and ensure proper care, maintenance, and quality control of MRI equipment and work areas.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology
  • 0 to 2 years of modality specific work experience
  • 1 year of X-Ray experience preferred
  • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Must be registered with the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT) or obtain registration within 1 year in this position
  • Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Ability to perform job functions while standing

  • Ability to lower objects, to 50lbs (+/-), from height of 72 inches, unassisted
  • Ability to push/pull objects/patients to 350lbs (+/-), unassisted
  • Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected
  • Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand
  • Ability to see and recognize objects at a distance
  • Ability to match or discriminate between colors
  • Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception
  • Good peripheral vision capabilities
  • Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction
  • Ability to hear and understand whispered conversations at a distance of 3 feet
  • Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements
  • Ability to be qualified physically (by medical personnel) for respirator use, initially and annually
  • Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to work overtime as required
  • Ability to learn and use new processes, tools, and equipment as required
  • Must be available for overnight shifts (6:00p-7:30a)
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
