MRI Technologist, PRN

Job Summary
Operate MRI scanners to produce high-quality diagnostic images while strictly adhering to ALARA safety protocols and conducting daily quality control checks. Perform patient screening for ferromagnetic objects, verify patient identifiers, and manage PACS workflows to ensure accurate exam tracking and reporting. Act as the MRI Safety Officer by monitoring zone access, conducting safety audits, and training staff on radiation protection techniques. Provide compassionate patient care, defuse difficult situations, and maintain strict HIPAA compliance. Work flexible hours including alternate shifts, evening, weekend, and holiday coverage with on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Health Science program
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiographic Technology (ARRT)
- 1 year general radiology experience
- Ability to work flexible hours-alternate shift, rotates on call for evening, weekend and holiday coverage
- Effective organizational and time management skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Light lifting, pushing and pulling is required for 10-20 lbs occasionally
- Frequent moving of objects of less than 10 lbs
- Frequent sitting with some walking, standing, squatting, bending and reaching
- Keyboard/computer use and/or repetitive motions
Desired Qualifications
- MRI certification
- 3-5 years of general radiology experience or equivalent with 2 years MRI experience
