Job Summary
Perform magnetic resonance procedures while demonstrating an understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, medical terminology, and magnetic safety. Act as the primary liaison between the patient and the interpreting radiologist using professional judgment and critical thinking. Maintain competency in MRI safety and protection, IV therapy skills, and radiography practice components. Operate as a responsible member of the health care team with strong communication skills and manual dexterity. Requires an accredited Radiology Technology degree, two years of staff technologist experience, and ARRT certification. BLS required. Per Diem schedule at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited program in Radiology Technology, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Radiation Therapy, either hospital based or college degree program
- Advanced training and certification in MRI
- Competency in components of radiography practice as appropriate
- MRI safety and protection
- Technical expertise

- IV Therapy skill competency
- Advanced registry/certification in MRI via the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

Desired Qualifications
- A minimum of two (2) years' experience as a staff technologist
- Experience/certification/internship in MRI
