Job Summary

The MRI Technologist I performs MRI procedures per departmental protocols, operating MRI scanners and related equipment with proficiency. Responsibilities include verifying orders with Radiologist, preparing patients, obtaining complete medical history, administering IV contrast per protocol, evaluating image quality, and assisting in emergencies (e.g., code blue). Maintains safety by following radiation safety guidelines, proper sterile technique, and equipment maintenance. Requires ARRT MRI registry eligibility (or ARMRIT) within 1 year of hire and CPR certification. Utilizes EMR/MAR systems for documentation and coordinates with physicians and nursing staff during imaging procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an institution accredited by ARRT in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • Active enrollment in an MRI ARRT registry eligible or ARMRIT program; MRI registry must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
  • CPR certification required.
