Job Summary
Provide quality patient imaging specific to MRI in accordance with physicians orders. Prepare MRI rooms, process images, maintain supply levels, and ensure equipment meets manufacturer specifications. Operate equipment per safety standards, verify procedures against orders, and contact physicians for discrepancies. Perform cross-section imaging, develop films, and evaluate images for technical quality. Provide patient education, alleviate anxiety, and establish patient identification to prevent repeat studies. Maintain radiation safety, complete quality assurance activities, and assist with first aid or Code 199 procedures. Input patient data accurately into the departmental computer system and check-in patients as directed. Adhere to sterile techniques, infection control policies, and OSHA regulations.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma OR General Education Development (GED)
- Radiologic Technologist Certification OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Magnetic Resonance Imaging OR American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists Certificate
- Certified Radiologic Technologist (Washington)
- Basic Life Support
- Knowledge of radiation safety, safety precautions, and infection control practices
- Communication, interpersonal, customer service, and problem solving skills
Desired Qualifications
- One (1) year of MRI experience
- One (1) year of direct experience with cross-sectional anatomy
