Job Summary
Interpret MRI orders, perform examinations using established protocols, and provide patient services including screening, answering questions, and explaining procedures. Prepare contrast media when needed and research implant safety for scanning. Use EMR to document actions, send exams to Radia with pertinent prior studies, and evaluate equipment for safe operation. Monitor patient safety, perform emergency procedures as required, and assist with facility maintenance and basic nursing functions. Maintain knowledge of radiologic terminology and current medical technology while adhering to HIPAA and infection control policies. Work at various Rebound locations as scheduled.
Required Qualifications
- High School or equivalent
- AA or AAS Field of study: Radiologic Technology Sciences
- Must be a graduate of a formal program of study accredited by the committee on allied health education and accreditation of the AMA, or completion of didactic education and clinical experience acceptable to the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- WA state license and MR ARRT registration
- Oregon State MR license
- Current BLS certification
- Knowledge of radiologic and MRI terminology, practices and procedures, physiology, and human cross sectional anatomy
- Knowledge of computer-based programs as they relate to MR applications
- Knowledge of safety requirements to provide instructions and to recognize and correct hazardous conditions
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public
- Skill in identifying and resolving problems
- Ability to collect and analyze statistics and other data
- Must be implant safe to enter MRI magnet room
- Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination
- Ability to view computer screens for prolonged periods of time and utilize keyboards to perform technical functions
- Standing, walking, pulling, bending, reaching, grasping, and lifting patient loads up to and sometimes exceeding 300 lbs
- Corrected vision and hearing to normal range
- Ability to handle multiple demands at times
- Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment
- Must be able to travel to different Rebound locations as needed and scheduled by supervisor
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of two years working as a radiologic technologist prior to learning MRI
