Job Summary
Conduct scheduled and on-demand MRI scans while reviewing diagnostic requests for correct anatomy and clinical history. Handle image reconstruction, archiving, and filming tasks; explain procedures to patients and ensure safety by following screening protocols and gowning requirements. Assist patients on and off the table, monitor flow for unscheduled studies, and perform weekly equipment quality control and calibrations. Identify and report malfunctions, maintain daily inventory, and consult with the Radiologist to apply proper scanning protocols. Complete daily schedules and document procedures in the Radiology Information System. Provide training to new graduates and students on AMI equipment. Work per diem shifts in Walla and Brick, NJ, with weekday rates increasing after 8pm and Saturday rates after 12pm.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited MRI program
- Registered in MRI by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or ARMRIT
- Current and valid American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Exceptional communication skills, including interpersonal, verbal, and written
- Patient-focused and team-centered approach
- Commitment to the entire patient experience
- Willingness to obtain venipuncture training/certification if not currently trained
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience or certification in venipuncture for the injection of contrast media via butterfly needle and IV catheter
