Job Summary
Operate MRI equipment and perform diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with department policy and the Standards of Ethics of the American Registry of Radiologic Technology. Position patients to obtain images of the area of interest while respecting patient comfort, and obtain appropriate patient information for each procedure. Set up and adjust equipment, recognize emergent situations to activate assistance, and secure a safe environment using PPE and guidelines. Collaborate with physicians for specialized procedures, assist other areas and shifts as needed, and cover call when applicable. Lift 50 lbs. and share 100 lbs. lifting duties while demonstrating critical thinking and communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training
- Current co-workers in the role as of 4/1/2019 must obtain MRI certification by December 31, 2020
- Co-workers hired into this role as of 4/1/2019 and after must obtain MRI certification within 24 months of date of hire into role in order to remain in the role
- CPR certified
- Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(MR), or American Registry of MRI Technologists (ARMRIT)
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to lift 100 lbs.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of general computer skills and applications
- Must be able to take call
- Demonstrate ability to multi-task and work independently using critical thinking skills
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in MRI preferred, but not required
- Previous experience in a similar role
