Job Summary
Operate MRI equipment to produce diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation, ensuring patient safety protocols and standard operating procedures are followed. Prepare and position patients, immobilize them as needed, and provide clear instructions before exams. Utilize the PACS to make images available and enter proper exam coding in the Radiology Information System. Assist in facility and equipment maintenance, reporting malfunctions to the supervisor. Instruct and supervise radiography students in clinical practicums while performing individual image evaluations. Ensure all required forms are completed before patient release.
Required Qualifications
- Technical Diploma Graduate of AMA approved school of Radiology or Imaging Services
- New York State Radiologic Technologist License
- New York State Radiologic Technologist Temp Permit
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) Advanced Certification in MRI
- Strong communication (both written and oral)
- Problem solving
- Customer service skills
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor s Degree In Radiology Program or related Health field
- 1 - 2 years MRI technologist or training experience
