Job Summary

Review patient history, physician orders, and schedules; educate patients on procedures and equipment to ensure cooperation. Prepare and administer contrast media or medications when ordered, while monitoring patient condition and reporting status changes. Select appropriate exposure factors, implement safety standards, and perform quality control procedures on equipment. Position patients, perform imaging procedures, analyze results, and resolve image quality issues by re-positioning or repeating scans. Enter, transmit, and report scan results. Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions as necessary. Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
  • Registered as a Technologist (RT)
  • Registered in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
  • Registry eligible with completing of registry within 12 months by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT Radiography) or by the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
  • State licensure if required by law
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date
  • BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Decisive judgement
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
