Job Summary
Operate MRI equipment and imaging coils, assess image quality and troubleshoot scanner/coil problems to ensure high-quality MRI studies. Identify and compensate for imaging artifacts, review MRI registration and screening forms for safe access into the magnet room, and assist in training MRI technologists and students. Perform filming, archiving, and PACS network data management for each patient scanned; retrieve old MRI data for restoration and networking. Master new techniques with scanner upgrades and communicate pertinent patient information to staff. Maintain safe, efficient patient care by positioning patients, adjusting exposure factors, and ensuring documentation and alignment with policies and workflows. May train new employees and lead day-to-day activities; contribute to safety, quality control, and MRI performance metrics.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology required
- CRT - Certified Radiologic Technologist current NYS licensure upon hire required
- ARRT Radiography Certification with CE credits upon hire required
