Job Summary
MRI Technologist position at Duke University Health System in Imaging Centers Arringdon (Durham, NC) operating Monday–Friday, 3pm–11pm with a $15,000 commitment bonus and $3,000 relocation. Responsible for operating high field strength MRI equipment, screening patients for safety, producing and evaluating MRI images, ensuring regulatory and safety standards, performing quality control, handling scheduling and clerical tasks, and providing orientation and training to new MRI staff. Requires ARRT radiography and MR certification within 12 months, BLS, and a minimum of two years MRI experience; may require Bachelor’s degree in Radiology with clinical MR rotations or equivalent radiologic technologist training. Demonstrates proficiency in IV contrast administration, use of Image Archival System, and collaboration with care teams to ensure patient safety and quality imaging.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a 24-month AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology or graduate of a bachelor's degree program in Radiology with two clinical MR rotations OR completion of 24-month AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology with two years of DUHS Radiology experience
- ARRT certification in Radiography and MR certification within 12 months of employment
- BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years MR experience (Level II) or equivalent experience for advancement
- Knowledge of Image Archival System and exam tracking/billing
- Ability to screen patients for MR safety and ensure patient safety standards
- Ability to operate high field strength MRI equipment and perform quality control on images
- Effective communication with patients and health care team
- Orientation and training responsibilities for new MRI technologists
- Ability to coordinate with staff to ensure appropriate patient care
- Regulatory guidelines adherence and maintenance of records
