Job Summary
Conduct MRI imaging for patients with and without medical implants, including pacemakers, nerve stimulation devices, and electronic pumps. Exercise independent judgment to enforce MRI safety protocols and adapt to new imaging techniques and technology changes. Provide mechanisms to assist patients with claustrophobia and overcome discomfort. Operate under the general supervision of the Radiologist and MRI Supervisor while maintaining ARRT certification and CE compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from school of Radiologic Technology approved by CAHEA/JRCT
- Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), ARMRIT, or certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
- ARRT MRI Certification
- Two years of MRI experience
- Advanced MRI specific certification by ARRT
- CE compliant according to governing body guidelines
- BLS certified
- Independent judgement
- Comprehensive knowledge of MRI physics
- Knowledge of biological effects to human tissue
- Knowledge of medical implants
- Ability to enforce MRI safety
- Inherent compassion for patients with claustrophobia
- Ability to provide mechanisms to assist the patient in overcoming their discomfort
- Screening for medical implants with components that are not permitted into the magnetic field
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of MRI experience preferred
