Job Summary
Perform advanced MRI imaging duties requiring independent judgment on patient safety, specifically screening for and managing medical implants like pacemakers and nerve stimulation devices. Execute safe and effective imaging practices for patients with and without implants while adapting to new imaging techniques and technology changes. Provide compassionate care to patients experiencing claustrophobia and assist them in overcoming discomfort. Operate under the general supervision of the Radiologist and MRI Supervisor. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of MRI physics, biological effects on human tissue, and enforce strict MRI safety protocols. Requires ARRT MRI certification and five years of progressive clinical experience.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from school of Radiologic Technology approved by CAHEA/JRCT
- Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), ARMRIT, or certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
- ARRT MRI Certification
- 5 years of progressive clinical experience in MR
- Demonstrated superior technical knowledge and expertise in cross sectional anatomy
- Advanced MRI specific certification by ARRT
- CE compliant according to governing body guidelines
- BLS certified
- Screened prior to hiring to ensure safety in the work environment regarding medical implants
