Job Summary

Perform routine and specialized MRI imaging procedures, selecting appropriate technical factors and administering contrast according to facility policy. Screen every patient, ensure proper positioning to reduce burn risks, and restrict access to authorized personnel while maintaining MR safety protocols. Transport patients to the scanner, verify physician orders, and explain procedures to promote comfort. Prioritize patient flow, coordinate care with the team, and process completed exams for interpretation while documenting activities in electronic health records. Participate in departmental performance improvement initiatives, equipment quality control, and staff training. Maintain departmental supplies and inventory, reporting equipment issues and performing ACR-required phantom testing. Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree
  • Certificate in Radiologic Technology or MRI from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)
  • Three (3) to four (4) years of MRI experience
  • Ability to independently perform all required MRI protocols
  • ARMRIT Registered Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist certification
  • ARRT (MRI) certification
  • Internal candidates with 10+ years of MRI scanning experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
  • Knowledge of, or ability to learn, transverse and cross-sectional anatomical and pathological presentations
  • Ability to perform, or learn, the technical operations associated with MRI equipment and procedures
  • Ability to work effectively in stressful and emergent situations
