Job Summary
Perform routine and specialized MRI imaging procedures under general supervision, selecting appropriate technical factors and administering contrast per facility policy. Transport patients to the scanner, verify orders, and prepare examination rooms while ensuring safe patient positioning and screening for ferromagnetic devices. Maintain departmental supplies, perform equipment quality control and ACR phantom testing, and document all activities in electronic health records. Participate in performance improvement initiatives, student training, and quality assurance efforts to enhance workflows and patient safety. Prioritize patient flow, communicate effectively with care teams, and escalate clinical or non-clinical concerns as needed. Schedule is 8:00am-4:30pm.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree
- Certificate in Radiologic Technology or MRI from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)
- Three (3) to four (4) years of MRI experience
- Ability to independently perform all required MRI protocols
- ARMRIT Registered Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist certification
- ARRT (MRI) certification
- Internal candidates with 10+ years of MRI scanning experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
- Knowledge of, or ability to learn, transverse and cross-sectional anatomical and pathological presentations
- Ability to perform, or learn, the technical operations associated with MRI equipment and procedures
- Ability to work effectively in stressful and emergent situations
