Job Summary
Perform routine and specialized MRI imaging procedures, selecting appropriate technical factors and administering contrast according to facility policy. Screen every patient, prepare them for the environment, and ensure proper positioning to reduce risks while transporting patients to the scanner. Participate in departmental performance improvement initiatives, student training, and quality assurance activities including ACR phantom testing. Maintain departmental supplies, document equipment issues, and perform quality control procedures. Prioritize patient flow, coordinate care with the team, and ensure final images are distributed to the PACS system. Work Saturdays and Sundays from 7:00pm to 7:00am.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree
- Certificate in Radiologic Technology or MRI from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)
- Three (3) to four (4) years of MRI experience
- Must be able to independently perform all required MRI protocols
- ARMRIT Registered Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist certification
- ARRT (MRI) certification
- Internal candidates with 10+ years of MRI scanning experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
- Knowledge of, or ability to learn, transverse and cross-sectional anatomical and pathological presentations
- Ability to perform, or learn, the technical operations associated with MRI equipment and procedures
- Ability to work effectively in stressful and emergent situations
- Every Saturday and Sunday 7:00pm-7:00am
