Job Summary
Execute basic clinical competence in MRI across all patient types, selecting accurate technical factors and administering contrast per facility policy. Screen every patient, ensure proper positioning to prevent burns, and protect the MR environment by securing ferromagnetic devices. Transport patients to the scanner, verify orders, and explain procedures to ensure comfort while prioritizing patient flow and coordinating with the care team. Maintain supplies, perform quality assurance activities including QA phantoms, and document patient care in electronic health records before distributing images to the PACS system. Participate in performance improvement initiatives and student training. Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree
- Certificate in Radiologic Technology or MRI from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)
- ARMRIT Registered Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist certification
- ARRT (MRI) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in MRI or other Imaging Modalities
- Completed an MRI certificate or cross-training program
