Job Summary
Under the supervision of a radiologist, the MRI Technologist performs a variety of magnetic resonance imaging procedures and scanners to produce detailed tissue images for medical diagnosis. Prepares pertinent information for physician and care team review, and delivers patient care and education before, during and after diagnostic imaging procedures. Maintains MRI equipment, ensures safety during imaging, and participates in quality assurance activities. Provides patient/family education and communicates effectively with patients and the care team; assists with determining equipment needs and scout films for physician review.
Required Qualifications
- Specialized Diploma or ARRT certification
- ARRT certification or equivalent
- BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA)
- Knowledge of radiography tools, techniques and applications
- Ability to position patients and operate MRI equipment safely
- Experience with MRI safety guidelines and quality assurance
