Job Summary
Performs MRI imaging procedures using radio frequency waves and strong magnetic fields at a high technical level. Operates MRI equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients’ bodies for diagnostic purposes per physician protocols, while ensuring patient comfort and safety. Prepares images and patient history for radiologists’ interpretation via fax and teleradiology over the internet. Injects patients with contrast material and maintains MRI rooms with appropriate materials. Completes paperwork and computer applications; ensures images meet established quality standards; commands PACS and assists other staff as needed; enters MRI reports into patient charts. Travel is required for this role; candidate must have a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and clean MVR.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of course work in radiologic technology approved by the ARRT
- BLS Certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Vast knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy
- Basic computer and administrative skills
- Must be able to work independently
- Must display excellent interpersonal skills
- Travel is required for this role so a current driver's license, auto insurance and MVR are required
