MRI Technologist - Full Time Evenings

Job Summary
Perform magnetic resonance procedures while demonstrating an understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, medical terminology, and magnetic safety. Act as the primary liaison between the patient and the interpreting radiologist using professional communication skills. Utilize critical thinking to apply ethical judgment as a responsible member of the health care team. Maintain competency in radiography practice components, MRI safety, and protection protocols. Possess advanced registry/certification in MRI via the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and BLS. Work full-time evening shifts at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited program in Radiology Technology, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Radiation Therapy, either hospital based or college degree program
- Advanced training and certification in MRI
- A minimum of two (2) years' experience as a staff technologist
- Experience/certification/internship in MRI
- Competency in components of radiography practice as appropriate
- MRI safety and protection

- IV Therapy skill competency
- Advanced registry/certification in MRI via the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

Desired Qualifications
- Advanced training and certification in MRI
- Experience/certification/internship in MRI
- Cross-training will be provided at the discretion of the Director/Medical Director of Imaging Services
- Advanced registry/certification in MRI within six (6) months of completion of MRI training
