Job Summary
MRI Technologist performs full MR imaging procedures for diverse patient types, adheres to MR Safety guidelines, and supports workflow via RIS/ERS/EMR integration. Responsibilities include venipuncture and contrast administration, following physician modality directives, ensuring correct patient exam details, maintaining equipment safety, and collaborating with staff to minimize delays. Requires MR-related credentialing and CPR/BLS at hire; certificate or associate-level radiologic technology training with MRI-focused certification or cross-training is preferred; ARMRIT/ARRT MRI certification must be obtained within 1 year. Primary clinical settings include MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and MedStar Washington Hospital Center in the DC area; full-time and part-time shifts are listed.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree required or Certificate in radiologic technology or MRI from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the US Department of Education (USDE) or Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)
- ARMRIT - Registered Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist and/or ARRT (MRI) Certification - required within 1 year of hire date
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation/Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification Upon Hire
