Job Summary
Operate MRI equipment to produce clinical diagnostic images as directed by physicians, preparing patients, adjusting settings, and instructing them on procedures. Administer IV contrast media with competency while monitoring patient condition throughout exams. Coordinate daily schedules for efficiency, assess exam completion, and consult with radiologists and patient-care personnel regarding specialized protocols. Assist with staff and student training, orientation, and conducting MRI classes. Maintain patient, volume, and equipment records required by the Radiology, Quality Assurance, and Joint Commission departments. Provide detailed reports to management as requested.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or equivalent from a 2 year college or technical school, or hospital based Radiologic Technology Program
- Radiography (R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Upon Hire
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Upon Hire
- Thorough knowledge of radiologic and MRI terminology, practices and procedures, physiology and human anatomy
- Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
- Ability to communicate effectively with others
- Ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds
- Ability to work the hours specified
Desired Qualifications
- 1-3 years of training/experience in MRI
