Job Summary

Perform routine MRI examinations in accordance with established protocols and safety guidelines under direct supervision. Prepare patients for procedures, correlate clinical history with physician-ordered exams, and safely administer contrast per protocol. Demonstrate the ability to recognize basic imaging artifacts, troubleshoot ECG signal issues if trained in Cardiac MRI, and accurately transfer images to designated systems. Complete basic technical documentation, perform operator-level quality control checks, and maintain equipment per manufacturer instructions. Actively participate in continuing education and support inventory tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited imaging, radiology or nuclear medicine program as defined by ARRT or ARMRIT
  • Completion of JRCERT accredited Military Educational Program
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • ARRT(RT) or ARMRIT certification
  • ARRT(RT)(MR) or ARMRIT certification
  • Associate degree
  • At least 3 years of MRI experience
  • Foundational knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology
  • Basic radiologic technology concepts
  • MRI-related terminology
  • Core MRI theory, practices, and techniques
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply HIPAA guidelines and standards
  • Ability to work as part of a diverse team
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others
  • Ability to prioritize and complete assigned clinical and non-clinical work tasks
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to remain composed in stressful situations
  • Ability to be sensitive to patients' physical and psychological needs
  • Ability to maintain accurate records
  • Ability to work accurately with names, numbers, and codes
  • Proficiency in breath hold coaching
  • Patient positioning
  • Cardiac anatomy identification
  • Knowledge of cardiac MRI contraindications
  • Knowledge and understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology
