Job Summary
Perform high-quality MRI examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols; educate patients and family members about MRI procedures, contrast use, and safety precautions to promote comfort and cooperation; position patients accurately using immobilization techniques; administer IV contrast following safety guidelines and monitor for adverse reactions; conduct daily system QC checks and maintain documentation in EMR and PACS; ensure patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures; review patient history to confirm exam appropriateness and identify contraindications; operate MRI equipment safely and adapt protocols for patients of all ages; maintain readiness of exam rooms and inventory, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure diagnostic image quality and patient safety.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Radiologic Technology preferred
- BLS certification required
- Active ARRT MR certification or ARMRIT certification required
- Licensure/certification to perform MRI procedures as applicable in state
- 1+ years of radiology experience preferred
- Knowledge of MRI procedures and MRI scanners
- Ability to follow department policies and safety protocols including ALARA principles
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and hospital staff
- Basic computer skills and PACS experience preferred
