Job Summary
Operate MRI equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images that inform accurate diagnoses and treatment plans. Independently perform MRI scans, position patients for comfort and safety, evaluate image quality, adjust techniques to meet radiologist expectations, and administer IV contrast and oral medications following strict MRI and aseptic safety protocols. Support departmental operations through QA activities, equipment troubleshooting, supplies management, and training of students/visitors. Schedule emphasizes afternoons (PM shift) with Monday–Friday availability; role emphasizes patient care, safety, and collaboration within a team.
Required Qualifications
- Must have passed or is eligible for the examination for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in MRI
- OR Must have passed the examination for the American of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and remain in good standing
- Prefer two years’ experience in MRI
- Maintains BLS certification with biannual renewal
- Vaccination or immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella; flu vaccine requirement or approved exemption
