Job Summary
The MRI Technologist performs scheduled and on-demand MRI scans in an outpatient radiology setting, processes images, reviews requests for correct anatomy and clinical history, explains procedures to patients, ensures patient safety in the MRI environment, assists patients onto the table, follows Radiologist-directed protocols, completes documentation in the Radiology Information System, manages patient flow, reports equipment issues, conducts weekly QA and calibration, maintains supplies, and participates in training of new staff; requires ARRT/ARMRIT certification, MRI program graduation, BLS, and willingness to obtain any needed additional certifications. Exceptional communication and a collaborative, patient-focused approach are essential for success.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited MRI program
- Registered in MRI by ARRT or ARMRIT
- Current and valid BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)
- Venipuncture or IV catheter experience or willingness to obtain
- In-house training provided
- Excellent communication skills and patient-focused approach
- Ability to assist patients on/off MRI table and use lift assist devices as needed
- Commitment to patient safety and adherence to screening protocols
