Job Summary
Operate MRI equipment to produce diagnostic images under radiologist direction, ensuring patient safety and proper positioning. Utilize the PACS to make images available for interpretation and enter exam coding in the Radiology Information System. Assist in facility maintenance by reporting equipment malfunctions to the supervisor. Instruct and supervise radiography students during clinical practicums while performing individual image evaluations. Prepare patients for procedures and verify image quality against departmental SOPs. Complete required forms before allowing patients to leave the zone area.
Required Qualifications
- Technical Diploma Graduate of AMA approved school of Radiology or Imaging Services
- New York State Radiologic Technologist License
- New York State Radiologic Technologist Temp Permit
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) Advanced Certification in MRI
- Strong communication (both written and oral)
- Problem solving
- Customer service skills
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor s Degree In Radiology Program or related Health field
- 1 - 2 years MRI technologist or training experience
