Job Summary
Coordinate radiology service operations by distributing reads to radiologists, managing worklists based on turnaround times and staffing shortages, and establishing relationships with external contracting companies. Train technical staff on clinical protocols, oversee equipment maintenance schedules, and facilitate service calls to repair vendors. Develop strategic initiatives with leadership to identify coverage gaps and formulate temporary workflows. Maintain current knowledge of imaging equipment standards, monitor equipment logs for failures, and ensure compliance with radiation safety regulations. Act as the technical subject matter expert for the section while participating in quality improvement plans and departmental meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school/college of Radiologic Technology
- Graduated from an accredited educational program in radiography, radiation therapy, magnetic resonance, nuclear medicine, or diagnostic medical sonography
- State of Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety License (IDNS/IEMA)
- CPR BLS certification through American Heart Association (AHA)
- Certification and registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Radiation Therapy, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Sonography or Mammography
- Certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in Sonography or Vascular Technology
- Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) in Nuclear Medicine
- ARMRIT certification
- Background check authorization and disclosure form completion
