Job Summary
MRI Scheduler responsibilities include accurately scheduling all radiology procedures (CT, MRI, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, mammography, diagnostic/interventional radiology) and coordinating with physicians, nurses, and technologists. Uses Epic, MyChart, and Epic Chat to communicate with patients and providers; verifies insurance within Mercy Network prior to scheduling; handles cancels/reschedules and adds-on exams; coordinates sedation cases with modality and OR and coordinates biopsies with Radiologist schedule. Screens MRI patients using approved tools and flags contraindications; communicates safety issues to patients and follows up; collects information to request images from other facilities and ensures preauthorization for exams to minimize visits. Requires attention to detail, ability to manage high call volumes, and collaboration with hospital registration, pre-cert, and modality teams. Education: high school diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience: at least one year of scheduling experience; medical terminology and customer service experience. Location: Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville, WI.
