MRI Referral and Authorization Specialist

Verify patient registration information and insurance eligibility in the practice management system, obtaining necessary authorizations before patient arrival for ambulatory visits, procedures, injections, and radiology services. Create appropriate referrals, fax forms to providers, and index referrals to patient accounts while processing 75-80 referrals daily. Review outstanding patient balances, complete daily chart prep tasks, and respond to staff inquiries regarding referral status and care coordination. Identify trends and communicate potential issues to management. This role supports the multi-location musculoskeletal practice's continuum of care, which includes on-site MRI, physical therapy, and aquatic therapy.
