Job Summary

Greet patients, confirm identity, and prepare them for MRI examinations by assisting with attire changes, removing metal items, and facilitating safe transfers to the table. Support MRI Technologists with patient positioning, hearing protection, and comfort measures while monitoring for changes in condition. Facilitate safety screenings, document implant and medical device information, and immediately escalate any contraindications. Prepare rooms, manage supplies including coils and linens, disinfect equipment, and perform routine visual checks. Review daily schedules, verify patient demographics, enter data into electronic systems, and coordinate room turnover to maintain efficient workflow. Communicate with clinical teams and staff regarding scheduling delays or safety issues.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain certification within the timeframe established by the organization
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or patient-care support role, such as Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, CNA, Radiology Assistant, or similar position
  • Previous experience in an outpatient imaging center, physician practice, hospital, or other clinical environment
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Previous patient transport, positioning, or safe patient-handling experience
  • Ability to understand and consistently follow detailed safety procedures
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Frequent standing and walking throughout the workday
  • Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and positioning of equipment
  • Ability to assist with patient transfers and positioning using appropriate equipment and assistance
  • Ability to push or maneuver wheelchairs, stretchers, and other wheeled patient-care equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently or with assistance in accordance with organizational safe patient-handling practices

Desired Qualifications

  • Interest in pursuing education or certification in radiologic technology or MRI
