Job Summary
MRF Maintenance Mechanic I (Evening Shift - 4:00 PM Start Time) in Fresno, CA. Perform routine inspections and maintenance of sorting lines to ensure safe, efficient operations. Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on conveyors, screens, balers, and other sorting equipment across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce downtime; monitor equipment performance and adjust to improve efficiency. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and parts inventory using company software. Collaborate with operations staff to address equipment concerns and safety issues; assist in installing new equipment. Adhere to safety protocols including LOTO, wear PPE, and follow company policies. Participate in safety meetings and perform other duties as assigned by Lead MRF Mechanic or Processing Manager.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum three plus years prior experience in industrial maintenance, mechanic shop or fabrication shop
- Experience in a Material Recovery Facility or similar environment preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Ability and willingness to work in outdoor environments with exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, odors, noise, and other environmental factors
- Ability to follow directions and learn new tasks
