Job Summary
Apply nondestructive evaluation methods such as acoustic, electromagnetic, thermal, optical, and radiologic principles to perform complex analysis of parts, materials, and processes. Lead coordination of failed parts investigations to determine root causes, generate test plans, and document recommendations for safety and reliability. Maintain compliance with contractual obligations while leading revisions to procedures and specifications. Provide technical guidance on suitability of parts and materials, support audits and failure investigations as a subject matter expert, and mentor junior engineers. Design and implement new concepts for continuous improvement across pre-production, current production, and post-production efforts. Requires 6+ years of experience for Senior or 9+ years for Lead, with a final U.S. Secret clearance post-start.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree or higher
- 6+ years of work-related experience with a bachelor's degree
- 7+ years of work-related experience with a Masters degree
- 4+ years with a PhD
- 5+ years of experience in Nondestructive Evaluation
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in NDE/NDT engineering in a regulated industry (e.g., aerospace, defense, energy)
- Experience with nondestructive evaluation processes (e.g., ultrasonic testing, radiography, eddy current testing, and penetrant inspection)
- ASNT Level 2 in multiple nondestructive evaluation processes (e.g., ultrasonic testing, radiography, eddy current testing, and penetrant inspection)
- Experience working in multi-discipline teams
- Strong understanding of materials behavior, stress analysis, and fracture mechanics
- Knowledge of Catia V5 or equivalent CAD/CAM software
- Active / Current Secret U.S. Security Clearance
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
- A final U.S. Secret clearance Post-Start is required
- Ability to travel 10% of the time
- U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (U.S. Person)
- Ability to satisfy Company's Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process
- This position is for 1st shift
