Job Summary
Conduct evidence-based primary and secondary research on air pollution, lead exposure, and allied policy issues to develop policy briefs, research papers, and expert briefings for national and state interventions. Provide legislative support to Hon'ble MPs for parliamentary debates, Bills, and Standing Committee meetings by identifying key policy gaps and solutions. Support programme implementation through field visits, stakeholder consultations, and coordination with local government, civil society, and think tanks at sub-national levels. Prepare high-quality reports, knowledge products, and administrative documents including impact assessments and success stories. Engage with diverse stakeholders to facilitate knowledge exchange and amplify policy insights through content development and public outreach. This role is based at the office of a Hon'ble Member of Parliament and may occasionally require working beyond regular office hours and on weekends. Required Qualifications
- Postgraduate degree in Environmental Science, Energy Studies, Climate Change, Economics, Public Policy, Political Science, Law, Development Studies, Sustainability, or a related field
- A minimum of 1.5 years of full-time, post-graduate professional experience in public policy, governance, environmental studies, sustainability, or related domains
- Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience working with government officials or elected representatives
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to conduct primary and secondary research, analyse data, and develop clear, actionable policy insights and recommendations from diverse technical and policy sources
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience engaging professionally with government officials, MPs, civil society, and grassroots stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Proficiency in visual storytelling, including but not limited to Canva
- Familiarity with government databases and public information sources
- Demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment to addressing critical policy issues affecting public service delivery and governance in India
- Availability and commitment to provide timely, high-quality support to public representatives on legislative and policy matters, including responsiveness to urgent requests
- Demonstrated understanding of critical policy issues, including climate change, air and heavy metal pollution, social protection, governance, and sustainable development
- Professional reliability, punctuality, and strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- This role requires a high level of commitment and may occasionally require working beyond regular office hours and on weekends
- The position is based out of the office of a Hon'ble Member of Parliament (MP)

Desired Qualifications
- Exposure to heavy metals, air pollution, energy transition and decarbonisation
- Engagement with multi-stakeholder ecosystems, including government departments, industry bodies, think tanks, and civil society organizations working on heavy metals, climate and energy-related issues
- Knowledge of India's climate and energy policy landscape, including national and sub-national frameworks related to heavy metals, air quality, energy transition, decarbonization, and sustainable development, with an understanding of their intersections with economic development, public health, social equity, and industrial policy
- Familiarity with key regulatory instruments, government schemes, and institutional mechanisms shaping the energy transition ecosystem, including transport electrification, renewable energy adoption, industrial decarbonization, and climate finance
- Familiarity with India's lead exposure and environmental health landscape, including national and sub-national policies, regulatory frameworks, government programmes, and institutional mechanisms related to lead poisoning prevention, environmental and occupational exposure, child and maternal health, and evidence-based approaches for lead risk reduction and mitigation
- Strong understanding of the structure and functioning of Union and State governments, including administrative, parliamentary hierarchies, and inter-governmental coordination mechanisms
