Job Summary
Manage lake and pond maintenance, including mowing, weed-eating, and string trimming slopes and basins. Perform concrete work by mixing bags of concrete by hand and buckets of grout. Stabilize erosion by carrying and rolling out matting, spreading seed, and wheat straw. Load and unload heavy equipment and planting materials from trucks while operating mowers, edgers, string trimmers, chain saws, and backpack sprayers. Work in waders and muck boots, collecting company-owned equipment daily. Comply with safety protocols for chemicals and equipment while handling environmental risks like bees and poison ivy. Full-time role in Spartanburg, SC at $18–$22/hour with health, dental, vision, and 401(k) matching.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to pass a background check and MVR check
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- At least 1+ year of background and formal experience in lake/pond maintenance, landscaping, commercial mowing, turf management, pesticide application
- Ability to lift to 80 pounds on a routine basis
- Ability to walk on steep slopes for extended periods of time
- Ability to bend and stoop on a continual basis
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
- Ability to work around bees, poison ivy, pollen, thorns, and other environmental risks
- Must practice safety with chemicals and equipment
- Must have good communication skills and the ability to motivate others
