Movement Disorders Neurologist - South Dakota

Job Summary

Evaluate and manage patients with movement disorders including Parkinson's disease, dystonia, and essential tremor through comprehensive neurologic assessments and individualized treatment plans. Perform office-based procedures such as botulinum toxin injections, interpret diagnostic studies, and provide outpatient clinic care and inpatient consultation. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, participate in case conferences, educate patients on disease progression, and supervise residents or fellows. Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. This role supports specialized care at outpatient clinics with possible inpatient responsibilities, utilizing evidence-based approaches to optimize patient function and quality of life.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an accredited Neurology residency program
  • Completion of an accredited Movement Disorders fellowship
  • Board-eligible or board-certified in Neurology
  • Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure
  • DEA registration or eligibility
  • Expertise in the diagnosis and management of movement disorders
  • Strong clinical judgment and longitudinal disease management skills
  • Proficiency with procedural therapies for movement disorders
  • Excellent communication and patient counseling abilities
  • Ability to manage chronic, progressive neurologic conditions
  • Commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care
