Job Summary
Lead a team of Research and Development employees to achieve agreed R&D targets for traction motors and mobile ePower solutions. Deeply involve yourself in motors new product development to ensure results meet planned objectives, while serving as a technical resource for internal and external contacts. Continuously study new technology trends in relevant motors and propulsion systems, and plan an appropriate project portfolio to deliver results. Contribute to technical bodies relevant to ABB R&D and develop competencies needed for traction systems in rail and off-highway vehicles. This onsite role supports the Traction Division in China, focusing on electrified mobility innovation.
Required Qualifications
- Master degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or related fields
- 10+ years of experience in motors design and development
- very strong technical competence in either Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, or both
- profound management experience
- immersed in working with motors design software and simulation tools and the industrial motors market
- Good knowledge of industrial motors manufacturing processes including equipment, and supply chain
- enhanced knowledge of Solidworks, CAD, Ansys
- passionate about PM motors technology and new motors technology development
- Proven experience of motors development in traction propulsion system for rail and off-highway vehicles applications
- at ease communicating in Chinese and English
