Job Summary

Operate motor grader and heavy grading equipment to complete fine grading tasks in challenging terrain while performing daily pre- and post-inspections with appropriate documentation. Service and maintain equipment as directed, using mechanic's hand tools and tape measures, and distinguish grade stakes and signals. Follow all OSHA, MSHA, and environmental regulations to ensure safety, quality, and revenue generation across existing and new operations. Work independently with good vision and hearing to understand supervisor commands and alarms, tolerating all weather conditions and noise levels. Weekend work and overtime are required, with starting wages at $30.00/hr and higher based on verifiable experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in finish grading
  • Individual must be dedicated to working safely at all times
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and nights when necessary
  • Valid driver's license
  • Distinguish and understand signals
  • Read and understand grade stakes
  • Use both hands and feet at the same time
  • Must be able to hear and understand commands from supervisors, warnings from fellow workers, and alarms on equipment
  • Able to use mechanic's hand tools and tape measure
  • Able to crawl and climb on, over, under and inside construction equipment
  • Lift and carry objects and materials of various weights up to 100 pounds
  • Good vision, both close-up and long-distance, and ability to look forward, side to side, and toward the rear of equipment
  • Must have good reliable transportation to make it to and from work
  • Self-motivated individual - must be able to perform required duties independently, without constant supervision
  • Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours as needed
  • Must be able to work outside in all types of weather and tolerate being exposed to loud noises
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required

Desired Qualifications

  • Experienced working with GPS control
