Motor Grade Operator/Superintendent

Job Summary
Operate motor grader equipment to grade and shape subgrades, shoulders, slopes, and base course materials to fine-grade specifications. Perform pre-start checks, routine maintenance, and material handling tasks including mixing, leveling, and dressing surfaces. Use automatic grade control systems and manual techniques to achieve precise specifications while monitoring quality and addressing rework requirements. Enforce safety procedures, schedule work tasks to meet timelines, and resolve issues during project execution. Work outdoors in varying weather conditions with overtime flexibility.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience as a Motor Grader Operator in highway, roads, and residential development projects
- Proficient in motor grader operations and maintenance
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints
- Familiar with grading techniques, subgrade shaping, and fine grading for horizontal surfaces
- Experience with automatic grade control systems
- Ability to make decisions based on verifiable standards
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to stand, bend, crouch, and work in a variety of positions for extended periods
- Capable of lifting more than 20 pounds and operating heavy equipment safely
- Frequently walking on uneven surfaces in various weather conditions
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments for extended periods
- Willingness to work overtime hours and flexible schedules as needed to meet project deadlines
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to operate other construction related heavy equipment a bonus, i.e. (Excavator, Skid steer, Bulldozer, Backhoe, Front end loader, articulating haul truck, etc.)
