Job Summary
Design and animate broadcast graphics, including logo design, informational graphics, branding, and marketing projects for TEGNA's 64 local news stations. Communicate daily with stations regarding project needs and handle other essential tasks as assigned. Receive continuous feedback throughout the project lifecycle while working closely with the Sr. Creative Director, Art Director, and production teams. This role requires flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends under tight deadlines. Applicants must submit a portfolio link upon resume submission.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree
- Formal training in design/art school
- Motion graphic curriculum at trade school or college
- Must be a designer
- 2-4 years of experience as a motion graphic designer in a professional graphic design environment
- Strong executional skills in Adobe products, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects, Cinema 4D and Premiere Pro
- Excellent design and animation skills
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Able to perform under very tight deadlines
- Ability to multitask projects
- Flexibility & experience with current design & editing AI tools
- Able to react to change and take direction effectively and productively
- Strong spelling and grammar skills
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends
Desired Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree preferred
- Proficient in Cinema 4d and/or Blender preferred, but not mandatory
- Applicants with editing experience (Adobe Premiere) will have stronger consideration
- Broadcast experience desired
- Recent graduates are also encouraged to apply
- Any Chyron experience is a plus
- Extra points if you are an editor and designer
- A professional portfolio demonstrating compelling and aspirational designs
