Job Summary
Provide direct patient care to obstetrics/newborn patients during the 7:00 PM–7:30 AM shift. Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing plans of care; administer medications and IV therapies; and initiate emergency procedures as needed. Coordinate patient and family education, discharge planning, and collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other health professionals. Demonstrate GBMC Values (Respect, Excellence, Accountability, Teamwork, Ethical Behavior, Results) in daily practice. Participate in teaching, quality improvement, and professional development activities; may precept new staff and contribute to unit operations. Requires strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills, proficiency in documenting in patient records, and ability to manage multiple priorities. Educational and licensure requirements include an Associate Degree in Nursing and an active RN license in Maryland, with CPR certification and specialty certifications as required upon hire.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited school
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Maryland State Board of Nursing
- Healthcare Provider CPR certification
- ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications for specialty areas (upon hire)
- One year of RN experience
